The 47th UEFA Congress is being held in Lisbon, attended by a three-member delegation of the Football Federation of Macedonia.

The president of FFM, Muamed Sejdini and the vice-president, Lazar Rakidjiev, together with the General Secretary, Filip Popovski, voted for a new four-year term for Aleksandar Ceferin, as the first person of UEFA.

The election of Aleksandar Ceferin as UEFA President for a term of office until 2027 is just one of the items on the agenda of the 47th UEFA Congress. Delegates adopted the Report of the UEFA President and Executive Committee for the period 2021/22. as well as the financial statements for the same period.

In his speech after receiving the vote of confidence, Ceferin, who was the only candidate, thanked the delegates for their support. "This is a great honor, but at the same time it is a great responsibility towards football," said the UEFA president. I will do my best not to disappoint."

"Football does not belong to anyone, rather it belongs to everyone: the players, coaches, referees, supporters and volunteers. "We must never forget that we have a duty to ensure that football interests prevail over the private interests of a few privileged individuals," Ceferin noted.

"We must continue to work together, we will continue to work together and not only in times of crisis, because the independent exercise of power has proven to bring only disappointments." That's why UEFA changed its approach. Clubs and leagues are represented on our Executive Committee. We must never forget that football is an inclusive sport, open to everyone. Football existed before we came, and it will exist when we are gone. But in the meantime, as long as we remain responsible for it, we must do our best to protect it. To protect the players. Let's protect the game," Ceferin concluded in his address to the delegates present at the Congress in Lisbon.

At the 47th Congress in the capital of Portugal, the leaders of the FFM, led by President Sejdini, had a series of separate meetings with senior representatives of UEFA and bilateral meetings with the representatives of the other national associations.
